The Ultimate Guide To Buying a Gaming Laptop Under $1500
Here is the buyer guide for $1500 category. Everyone likes to get a high-end gaming experience on their laptops. Before we buy a gaming laptop, we have to check the significant points. So I am going to show you, what they are, how we choose a right component.
Pick a Right Graphic Card
The graphics card, this is the single most important component of the gaming laptop. If you want to play high-end games, then you must go with the latest GPU. You can get a laptop with a dedicated graphic from either Nvidia or ATI.
Some websites still use GTX 1050 GPU for their content. I don’t know why they do that. However, you should expect minimum GTX 1060 VR ready GPU under this Price range.
GTX 1060 Graphics card using for high-end laptops. And it’s based on Pascal architecture. You can see this GPU benchmark end of this article.
Our top pick laptop has GTX 1070 GPU. This laptop you can get around $1500. That’s a very powerful GPU.
Finally, I have to say. Don’t go with GTX 1050 or older GPU. Because that’s waste your money. Also GTX 1070 GPU and GTX 1060 GPU is pretty enough to play latest games in ultra-settings with smooth Frame rates.
MSI GE63VR Raider GamePLay
Minimum Go with Core i7-7700HQ CPU
This is the standard GPU you can get under this price range. Below all laptops come with core i7 processor. This processor has 8864 Average CPU Mark. Indeed this is the very fast processor. It belongs to Intel 7th generation family. I think you have a question like this “what is the HQ end of this 7700 number”. The “HQ” means High-performance graphics, quad-core.
Go with minimum 16GB RAM.
Ram is the most important part when we play games. GPU makes Graphics and Processor handle all the processes. What is the Ram purpose? Nowadays developers make high-end games. So that’s games have a lot of data file. Ram is volatile. That’s hold data and send it to the processor. So RAM does really great work. We have to consider major things before buying a laptop this price range. First one is Minimum go with 16GB ram, I don’t recommend 12GB or 8GB ram under this price range. That’s waste your money. And Bus Speed, every RAM stick has own bus memory. That indicates data transfer speed between processor and RAM. You should expect 2400MHz Bus speed in this price range.
Get an SSD Storage device.
SSD means Solid State Drive. SSD can reduce your Boot time speed. In this price range, you should expect SSD drive. Above some laptops has SSD drive with a mechanical hard drive and some have not. There lot beneficial when you use SSD.
- Less power Draw
- Around 10 seconds average to boot up time
- There are no moving’s parts so SSD work quietly
- Also, there is no vibration
Select Better Display
You can see some laptops using 4K resolution and some use 1080P. My personal idea is 1080P display is good for play games. When you use your laptop editing purpose and gaming purpose, I think you should get our top pick laptop because that have 4k Display. Another thing is the display refresh rate; the 60Hz refresh rate is enough to play demanding games. If you need really crisp gaming experience. I think you should go with a 120Hz screen refresh rate display.
Check Laptop Cooling System
This is a common issue. Because there is a lot of high-end component pack in small chassis. So before you buy a laptop check amazon users reviews. Some laptops use dual fan cooling technology, that’s really impressive. But I know this is not a major point. Because we can reduce this heat using an external cooling pad. You can get a cooling pad for around $20.
Also, this is a common issue. Because Core i7 Processor and high-end Nvidia GPU need high power to work. The standard battery life in a gaming laptop about 2 – 4 hours. So I recommend when you play games plug your laptop to AC. that can extend your gaming hours.
Some laptops are compatible with VR. Also, you need the following specifications for use this feature.
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 and above*
HTC Vive Pro GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or greater
CPU: Intel Core i5-7300HQ or greater
Memory/RAM: 8GB+ RAM
Video Output: 1x HDMI 1.4
Ports: 3x USB 3.0
Everyone likes to get an impressive laptop. If you are a student, then go with a lightweight laptop, because portable gaming laptop easily carries with you. In this price range, you should expect better design and excellent keyboard. Above some keyboard has RGB keyboard. So you can customize backlit as you wish. And the metal design is really worth you spend money.
Basically, we need fast Wireless module. An optical drive. But some laptops haven’t optical drive. Don’t worry about that. Also, check the USB ports, check how many 3.0 ports and 2.0 ports are available. Also, check the Ethernet module speed, that’s really important when you play LAN games.
Finally, those are the things we consider before buying a laptop. So enjoy your gaming laptop for $1500.
This is my conclusion about gaming laptops under 1500. I think I already tell all things about this topic. So if you need still more information, then select any laptop and click “check price on Amazon” you will redirect to Amazon product page, and you can see customers reviews.
